About Ordo Upcyclum

Hi, I'm just a regular 40K nerd who enjoys GW wargames. I play Thousand Sons and Tzeentch Daemons in 40K, and Pathfinders and Chaos Cults in Kill Team.

I started this whole thing because I wanted some cool art for my gaming and hobby areas. I couldn’t find anything that really captured the look and feel of Warhammer, so I started making it myself using old rulebooks I had lying around.

People liked what they saw, and soon they were trading me their beat-up books for handmade pieces. That turned into a pile of old rulebooks and a growing stack of artwork.

Everything here is made by hand using upcycled pages from rulebooks that were on their way to the trash. This site is mostly a place to share my surplus. I give a lot away too as tournament prizes because Warhammer art is awesome and everyone should get to enjoy it.

Where the Books Come From

I don’t buy collector books unless someone’s already tossing them out. The last thing I want is to drive up the price of nostalgia for other fans. I’m not here to scalp or flip rare finds. I’m here to rescue books that would otherwise end up in a bin.

Most of my materials come from trades, local game scenes, and places like Facebook Marketplace. Occasionally, I’ll grab a bulk lot off eBay if the price is right, but I never buy new. This project is all about reuse, not contributing to waste or overpriced collecting.

Why I Do This

I’m not here to make a living. I just want to earn a little hobby money so I can buy more models than I’ll ever reasonably paint. It all goes straight into my ever-growing pile of shame... also known as the mound of opportunity.

I love experimenting with oil washes, pigments, and grimdark paint schemes. I’m always hunting down custom bits too, which means spending $15 on one set of shoulder pads for a single model. It’s not smart, but my models look awesome, so I have no regrets.
